Niels Terlouw LL.M.

I have been working at The Legal Company since 2022. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, after which I obtained my master’s degree in Employment Law. In mid-2026 I also successfully completed the postgraduate professional programme for in-house counsel.

In my practice, I have developed towards corporate law and contract law. I support and guide SME entrepreneurs and organisations on a daily basis with a wide range of legal questions and work within these areas of law. This includes commercial contracts, liability issues, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), employee and shareholder participations, shareholder documentation and disputes, the incorporation, structuring and dissolution of companies, and advice on the DBA Act.

My professional drive

Better than most, I understand that SME entrepreneurs need clarity and speed, without unnecessary legal complexity. I work from the conviction that legal solutions should above all be practical and workable: pragmatic where possible, but thorough and sharp where necessary. My goal is not just to take the legal burden off entrepreneurs’ shoulders, but also to help them make choices that fit their business, growth stage and ambitions. Helping people, combined with the varied and dynamic world of law, gives me a great deal of energy and satisfaction in my work for The Legal Company. I bring that same commitment to every file.

My personal drive

Social contact matters a great deal to me, both for relaxation and for new energy. I enjoy the time I spend with friends and family, and the conversations and moments that come from it. In my free time, I like going out for dinner, or you’ll find me at the local football club.
